Sharing the News

Jamin and I were trying to wait until Father's Day to spill the news, so we bought a children's book called, "Just Grandpa and Me" and wrapped it up for my Dad to open on Father's Day and mailed one to Grandpa Jim. Grandpa Jim did a good job waiting until Father's Day to open his present, but Jamin and I had two weeks to go until Father's Day and we couldn't wait any longer. The weekend before Father's Day, we gave my dad the book to open and said it was a gift to say thank you for taking care of Parker while we were in Michigan. When Dad opened it, he didn't quite understand it. However, Mandy was standing right behind him clasping her mouth. I finally said, "Manda got it!" and Dad asked, "You're pregnant?" I said yes and his mouth and eyes got as big as they possibly could and he blurted, "Holy Shit!" Mom was in the kitchen witnessing everything and there were big hugs all around.

For Jamin's parents, who live in Georgia, we were not able to tell them in person, so we recorded our voices in a Father's Day card to share the news along with the same Children's book. Jim and Lory called us on Father's Day to gush about the news and it was a blast finally sharing the news with them.
